Manuscript Guideline
1. Formatting requirementStandard and sequence
1) The manuscript shall be prepared in Korean or English on A4 paper (21 × 30 cm), and the program used shall be higher than Hangeul 3.0 or
English in A4 format (21×30cm), and the utilizing software should be equal to or more advanced than Hangeul 3.0 or MS Word 2002.
The margins should be 2.5cm for top, bottom, right and left. The font size should be 12 point and the font style should be Shinmyeongjo, and
Times New Roman, for Hangeul and MS Word, respectively. Row space beof 200% or double space for Hangeul or MS Word, respectively, is
required. Please ensure the manuscript has consecutive line numbering and page numbers.
2) The title and the author’s name should be indicated at the top of the first page. Korean title and author’s name should appear above the English
ones in Korean article and vice versa for English article. If there are no Koreans among the authors, the Korean title and author’s name can be
omitted. The e-mail address and phone number of the corresponding author should be marked below the line that should be inserted at the
bottom of the first page. If the affiliations of collaborating authors are different, the symbols, ‘*’, ‘**’ and so on, should be placed next to the name
of authors to distinguish their different affiliations. The full names of authors should be written in the order of the given and family names.
3) The manuscript should be organized in the order of Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion (or Results and
Discussion), Korean Abstract, and References. The abstract should be within 300 words, and the Korean abstract should be written in Korean, in
both of the Korean and English articles.
4) At the end of the abstract, provide maximum 10the key words in a separated line(s).
5) Even in the case of reports on the international agricultural status and research analysis, Aabstract, Introduction, Korean abstract(Conclusion),
and cited rReferences are requiredshould be prepared.
6) If you want to divide your manuscript into subsections, subheadings should be assigned to each subsectionsof the classified contents in the
order of 1, A, (1), (A), 1), and A).
2. Tables, figures, and photographs
1)The legendstitles of tables, figures, and photographs must be written in English and. explain them concisely but completely.
2) The of legends of tables must be placed above the tables and those of figures and photographs must be below them.
3) Considering that the printing format is 8.4cm or *17.7cm in width, the tables, figures, and photographs should be clearly
presented within the scale, and must be placed next to the relevant sentences in the text. The authors may submit the
original copy of the figure to the Secretariat of Korean Society of International Agriculture after the article is accepted
and in press.
3. Units and abbreviations
1) Names of people and geographical areas is written in the original language, and the year in A.D., and weights and measures
in C.G.S.
2) The abbreviations can be used after the full name is first written in the text with its abbreviations in parentheses.

4. Korean abstract
1) The authors must provide additional Abstract written in Korean before References section, by summarizing the results with
numbered sentences (1,2,3,4...and so on).
2) If there are no Koreans among the authors, the Korean abstract can be omitted.
5. References
1) The references are limited to those actually cited in the article, and author’s name should be listed in the alphabetical order.
2) References are written in the order of the author’s name, year of publication, title, journal name, and volume and page
numbers; those ; for books are, in the order of the author’s name, year of publication, name of the book, publisher’s name,
publishing company, and page numbers.
3) The names of authors are in bold, and in the order of family and given names. The first given names are written in
abbreviated forms.
4) The author’s names should be listed until it reaches the 9th and ‘et al.’ can be used for the rest of authors. Symbols such as
‘&’ or ‘and’ must not be placed before the name of the last author.
5) When the same author appears more than twice, those references should be listed in chronological order.
6) When the same authors published different books or articles in the same year, the letters such as ‘a’, ‘b’, ‘c’, and so on will
be used at the end of the year.
7) The journal name should be abbreviated and italicized, with the period at the end of each abbreviated word.
8) The volume and page numbers should be separated by a colon, without a space between them. (volume number should be
presented, but not issuance).
9) Page numbers in a book should be assigned as the following examples
- If authors cite an entire book running 450 pages, it is ‘450p.’.
- If authors cite one-page in a book, it is for example ‘p.120’.
- If authors cite multiple-pages in a book, it is for example ‘pp.120–130’.
10) If the information on a reference is more than two lines, indentation with five spaces should be used from the second line.
11) References in the text should be written as follows.
Garcia-Hernandez et al. (2002), (Garcia-Hernandez et al., 2002),
(Bubner and Baldwin, 2004; Bubner et al., 2004; Prior et al., 2006)
(Weeks et al., 1994; Kim, 1999, 2014a, 2014b; Vannini and Chilosi, 2014)
12) References in the text should be separated and arranged in chronological order.
